  • Are your treatments safe for my pets and people?
We pride ourselves in only using environmentally and people/pet/garden safe moss treatments. Our technicians make the call on what treatment is applied depending on specific job conditions. All our technicians are also ODA licensed pesticide applicators. For roofs with a medium to low pitch, we use Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate (hydrogen peroxide) granule treatment. The treatment oxidizes with moisture (rain/dew) and strips the waxy protective coating from the moss allowing it to die from exposure. Once reacted, it fully breaks down into oxygen and water leaving no harmful byproducts. Safety and environmental information is available is available upon request. For liquid treatment applications, we apply a d-limonene concentrate (citrus oil) applied at a 2%-10% ratio. The treatment works by stripping the protective waxy coating from the moss which allows it to die from exposure. Results are often visible within few hours and will continue work for weeks after application! Safety and environmental information is available upon request.
  • Will the cleaning damage my roof?
Moss and debris accumulation will be the biggest factor in reducing the longevity of your roof. Our process causes no damage to the roof as our brushes primarily come in contact with the moss growth during the cleaning. Our technicians may opt to use treatment rather than scrubbing if the necessary to avoid damage. If we do see any pre-existing damage on your roof we'll photograph it and notify you at the time of service.
  • Do you pressure wash roofs?
Due to the risk of damage to your roofing, we don't use pressure washers for moss removal. Pressure washing composite roofs can remove large amounts of the granule that protect the shingles from sun and weather, as well it erodes the tar and fiberglass underlay leaving your roof exposed and vulnerable to water intrusion. Plus it makes a big muddy mess! We opt to use brushes to gently loosen the moss growth and then blow the debris down off the roof. Once the roof is cleaned we apply an eco-friendly treatment to ensure that the moss doesn't return!
  • What roof types can you clean?
We primarily clean composite shingle and concrete tile roofing but can also work on many other more unique roof types. Those include Spanish tile, metal tile, sheet metal, cedar shake, roll/torch down, and rubber membrane.
  • Do you use safety gear while cleaning roofs?
Safety is always our top priority! Our technicians are equipped and required to use a full array of industry leading fall safety equipment while working at height. Each technician goes through 4 weeks of extensive safety training and recieve regular inspections. We abide by all rules and regulations set forth buy OSHA regarding fall safety.
  • Will all the moss be removed from my roof?
We can often remove most of the moss off the roof, but to avoid damage there may be some remnants left behind. The treatment that is applied will kill any residual growth which will eventually wear down and dissipate. If you see living moss after 30 days let us know and we'll com back and retreat it. Check out a few our before and after photos below!
  • What are your guarantees?
If you still see any living (green) moss growth on your roof within 30 days of the service, we will return and remove/retreat it at no charge. Algae stains under downspouts are not covered under our guarantee since they often return with a few months regardless of what treatment is applied.
  • Will you clean my gutters too?
We always include a full gutter cleaning with each roof cleaning service. Check our our gutter cleaning page for further details!
  • Are my grounds cleaned up after the roof and gutter cleaning?
Our standard for cleanup to leave your grounds looking the same or better then when we arrived! We usually opt to blend the debris that came off the roof into the landscape so it can decompose naturally instead of ending up in a landfill. Our technicians are able to remove up to 2 bags of debris (100lbs max) if necessary. When available, we dispose of what debris we can into yard waste bins.
  • Can I setup regular roof cleanings?
We offer a convenient automatic service schedule that takes the remembering out of your roof and gutter maintenance! Once the initial roof cleaning is done, our staff can provide a quote and recommended schedule for ongoing maintenance. Most our clients homes need at least two gutter cleanings per year and one roof treatment/cleaning. The services happen automatically in the month you choose so you don't have to worry about scheduling the services! Just ask any of our staff and we'll be happy to help!
